IMDR has organized a webinar on Thursday April 01, 2021 at 11:15 am on the topic on National Education Policy 2020 - Opportunities and Challenges for a B-School .
The resource person was Dr. Devidas Golhar , Principal, Marathwada Mitramandal College of Commerce, Pune and Member - NEP Task Force, Government of Maharashtra.The webinar was conducted for the students of PGDM-I students and Faculty members of the institute.
He started the talk with an evolution of education policy dated back from 1948 to 2019. He explained the rationale behind NEP 2020 which covered to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030 (50% GER by 2035) and pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centred, discussion-based, flexible, and, of course, enjoyable.
Under major reforms of NEP 2020 , he spoke about 50 % gross enrolment ratio by 2035 ,holistic and multidisciplinary education -flexibility of subjects and credit transfer and academic bank of credits , need based and inter-discipline specific curriculum, blend of classroom and experiential learning. He emphasized on entire education system to be reconfigured to support and foster learning
He extensively shared his insights on restructuring plans for HEI/ universities into unitary, cluster and multidisciplinary institute has given more clarity to understanding of the participants. His explanation about holistic and multidisciplinary education and credit transfer system with the help of suitable examples was appreciated by the participants.
