fuels so that it is not caught in the crossfire between the West and Russia
again—at least not on the question of energy security. India could adopt
a multi-pronged approach to achieve this goal. The states should consider
offering one-time subsidies to its vulnerable populace to temper the crisis’
impact at present. Simultaneously, India could strengthen the Indian
banking system by addressing asset quality concerns and strengthening
banks’ balance sheets.
India has fought four wars in 1962,65,71 &99 and also has encountered
various terror strikes,to say the least, it’s detrimental to the economic
health of the nation and pushes back the economic growth as FDIs
and FII hesitate and we have to create an ambience which has hues of
vibrancy, peace and stability in order to attract investments and grow at a
rapid pace leading to economic prosperity of all in the country.
Limitations:
Even though the focus of the current study is on the economic
consequences of armed conflicts, it has its limitations when we consider
the economic costs of the entire domain of the violence. In today’s world,
cost of violence doesn’t simply comprise of destruction caused due to
state based armed conflicts, destruction of human and physical capital
but it also consists costs related to refugees, internally displaced persons,
destruction caused by terrorist activities etc. Over the years, the face
of international politics has changed and so has the nature of conflicts.
Violence is no longer limited to state-based armed conflicts. The number
of Civil wars and internal conflicts along with terrorism has increased
after the post-cold war era. The present paper doesn’t provide sufficient
explanation and evidence on the costs related violence other than the
state based armed conflicts.
Another limitation of this paper is that the data used in it is collected
through secondary sources and hence the limitations applicable to its
original source are automatically applicable to this study. Many a times
there exists a threat of data manipulation. Hence the guarantee of the
authenticity of the data is limited too. The conclusions and findings of the
paper are as authentic as the data on which it is based.
