potential can be converted into new major service sector activities like
Agro-Tourism, Medical Tourism, Cuisine-centric Tourism with dedicated
efforts under the proposed mission. This will establish new green industries
with round the year continuity, generate huge employment opportunities
for the local population, earn foreign exchange apart from giving a boost
to supporting industries and employment therein. Already undertaken
initiatives like Doubling Farmers’ Income, E-NAM, Kisan Rail, Kisan
Credit Card, Rural Infrastructure Development, FPOs among others will
provide necessary support in the proposed mission. Considering the likely
engaging population and the potential, the proposed mission will accelerate
the economy towards the FTDE goal. The FTDE goal can be achieved
even with other undertaken missions and policies. However, the proposed
‘Produced and Served by India’ initiative will ensure much needed overall
employment growth and particularly, employment and income growth in
the agriculture sector. Apart from narrowing the grave disparity it will also
boost rural development and bridge rural-urban divide. Activities promoted
will be ‘green’ and usher in a more inter-dependent, less conflicting world.
