Preface
Editing the volume on Abhivruddhi : Making India a Five Trillion Dollar
Economy was a memorable experience for us. Working on the book was
an enriching experience and we have learned a lot about Economy and
the idea of India through the prism of articles and interviews by eminent
academicians, Government officers, agriculturists, and members of the
corporate.
The idea of the book was proposed by Dr. Sharad Kunte, Chairman,
Council and Governing Body, Deccan Education Society.
From being Sone Ki Chidiya to a country where a single needle could
not be manufactured to becoming Atmanirbhar and aspiring to be a
global supplier of goods and services, India has come a long way and
there are still many miles to go. This book tries to chronicle the efforts
that are being actively taken by various agencies in the different sectors
which have led to India steering its path to becoming a Five Trillion
Dollar Economy.
Therefore, when we conceived the book, we invited contributions from
professionals belonging different sectors. We are happy that the book has
contributors from sectors like Infrastructure, Agriculture, Unorganized
sector, Governance, Finance, Logistics, Technology and Real Estate.
We hope that the readers will understand and appreciate the various
initiatives taken to empower India’s Journey to becoming a Five Trillion
Dollar Economy.
