farmers will benefit, their produce and agriculture-based products can be
transported to the cities and ports further export. It is clear as daylight,
with this kind of connectivity, established, development will certainly
accelerate.
If we look at the developed countries, the suburban as well as the remote
areas are so well connected, that people do not find the need to move to
the cities or urban areas. It impacts the economy and the development of
the country and thereby the standard of living.
Ease of Doing Business
Our Hon. Prime Minister. Mr. Narendra Modi introduced new
processes for ease of doing business.
With such improved business processes and procedures new avenues of
opportunities are opening up and will create confidence in the upcoming
years. Ease of doing business is one of the most crucial factors to promote
India as a preferred manufacturing destination.
Previously there was no electrical connectivity in the rural area
and the small villages, but now that situation has improved to a great
extent. Same is the case with environmental clearance. The validity of
environment clearance has been increased from three years to seven
years now. The Government is coming up with single window clearance,
which integrates six departments.
The environmental clearance issuance in 2013, 2014, was a very big
roadblock in India. To improve this environmental clearance now the
Government has declared a list of 436 industries, which will not require
environmental clearance. As far as Customs is concerned, there is a 24 by
7 custom clearance office, at 19 ports and 17 air cargo complexes. There
are some States, and Union territories which have brought about some
significant reforms in tax as well.
The Government has introduced a GST goods and services tax. That
helps in dropping cost of capital goods, lowering inventory and working
capital requirements. Along with promoting the seamless transfer of
goods in the country, efficient and low-cost cloud. With the help of these
factors the unorganized sector will come under the tax regime, this it will
in turn improve the tax collections. The de-monetisation issue has been
criticized, but it has proven to be a positive impact on online e-transaction.
Better the infrastructure, better is the economic development of the
country. We are currently experiencing these developmental initiatives
