Editor’s Note

Sports have always been an integral part of human lives. Whether the
recent Cricket World Cup or the Olympic games that began thousands
of years ago in ancient Greece, they have played a vital role in the
advancement of society.
The main theme of Connect 2023-24 revolves around the same topic. It
gives the reader an overview of ancient Indian sports and at the same
time connects with the recent developments in this field. The types of
indoor and outdoor sports and their significance on the mental and
physical well-being of individuals as well as the influence of sports biopics
on narratives are also covered.
Modern sports cannot be sustained without the involvement of big
financial players. Major sports leagues such as IPL and Barclays Premier
League generate huge revenues. Thus, the reader will also get insights
into the financial aspect of the sports industry
This year (except for four articles - two each from DM II and faculty)
the IMDR Connect Magazine is authored by the PGDM 1 Batch of 2023-
25. As portrayed through these commentaries, sports are a source of
inspiration that goes beyond the playing field, resonating with dreams
and aspirations. Connect aims to capture the spirit of sports, the emotions,
the trials, and the jubilant moments that forge lasting memories.
As readers, let us embark on this journey through the world of sports with
