FROM THE EDITOR’s DESK
It is with great pleasure that we present the twelfth issue of the Journal of Management Development and
Research, the flagship publication of the Institute of Management Development and Research, Pune.
This edition brings together a diverse collection of scholarly articles that explore the evolving role of
deep technologies and their transformative influence across sectors including aviation, healthcare,
finance, agriculture, marketing, and social inclusion.
The issue opens with a timely analysis of cybersecurity in the aviation sector, offering insights into how
failures in governance and risk identification have led to high-profile breaches. This sets the stage for a
broader exploration of how advanced technologies particularly artificial intelligence, blockchain,
quantum computing, and the Internet of Things are driving innovation in both public and private
domains.
Several articles examine the profound impact of deep tech on financial systems, highlighting how India’s
regulatory support and thriving fintech ecosystem are fostering more secure, efficient, and inclusive
financial services. Complementing these insights are global case studies that demonstrate how
organizations like Tesla, Amazon, and Google are capitalizing technology to redefine business models
and create competitive advantage in an increasingly digitized marketplace.
The issue also addresses the intersection of technology and geopolitics, providing a comparative
perspective on how leading nations are approaching the global race for deep tech leadership through
distinct strategies in policy, investment, and regulation.
Importantly, this volume underscores the role of innovation in promoting social inclusion. Research
focusing on visually impaired athletes demonstrates the power of AI-based wearables and adaptive
technologies in making sports more accessible. In a similar vein, smart irrigation solutions rooted in IoT
are being used to promote sustainability in agriculture, albeit with continuing challenges in energy
efficiency and environmental adaptability.
Emerging business models such as microtransactions in digital platforms and ESG-integrated robo-
advisors are examined through the lenses of user engagement, ethical concerns, and regulatory needs. In
healthcare, multiple studies explore the integration of AI—from managing chronic conditions like
diabetes to enhancing patient engagement through personalized marketing strategies. These papers
collectively highlight both the immense potential, and the ethical responsibilities associated with AI in
health systems.
What unifies these contributions is a clear message: while technology holds transformative promise, its
successful adoption must be anchored in transparency, ethical governance, regulatory compliance, and a
commitment to inclusivity. This issue of the journal serves not only as a repository of research but also as
a guide for academics and practitioners to navigate in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital
transformation.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all our patrons, contributing authors, reviewers, and all those whose
efforts have shaped this edition. We hope that the insights presented here inspire further dialogue,
research, and innovation in the field of management and beyond.
Sincerely Yours,
