Where the above-mentioned examples are
encouraging, but at the same time there are many
unheard dreams crushed due to lack of resources,
mainly financial. Youth of India, with bright and
innovative ideas, joined the race of looking for
employment elsewhere because they did not have
money to commercialize their ideas. Many people
who are running the business since a long time,
had to put a full stop to it, because they were not
able to sustain the venture without ample funds.
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, came as a boon to
many existing and aspiring businesses in India.
With the noble objective of Financial Inclusion,
Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
launched the scheme of MUDRA on April 08, 2015.
MUDRA stands for Micro Units Development and
Refinance Agency Limited. MUDRA is a refinancing
institution, which provides financing up to Rs.
10 lakhs to non-corporate and small businesses
involved in Manufacturing, Service, Retail, Agri
and allied services for non-farm activities. MUDRA
is intended towards employment and income
generation for the needy. It is intended to support
Micro, Small and Medium enterprises. There are
numerous success stories where many budding
businesses got their wings through MUDRA
scheme.
