With the objective of “Funding the Unfunded”
MUDRA is a first of its kind scheme launched
by Government of India. PMMY loans are given
by Banks, Financial Institutions, Non-Banking
Financial Companies (NBFC) Micro Finance
Institutions (MFI), Regional Rural Banks (RRB) and
Small Finance Banks (SFB). The loans are provided
for starting a business as well as expansion needs.
The idea behind launching PMMY is to empower
the small businesses to evolve and prosper.
The Vision of MUDRA scheme is “To be an integrated
financial and support services provider par
excellence benchmarked with global best practices
and standards for the bottom of the pyramid
universe for their comprehensive economic and
social development”. As on Financial Year 2019-20,
MUDRA scheme has helped 62247606 businesses
with Rs. 337495.53 Crores since its launch.
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana offers loans
under three categories, depending on the stage of
development, Growth and need of funds as below:
Shishu – Loans up to Rs. 50,000
Kishor – Loans ranging from Rs. 50,000 – Rs.
5,00,000
Tarun – Loans ranging from Rs. 5,00,000 –
Rs. 10,00,000
