Introduction:
Strategic wisdom involves making decisions that are not only effective in the short
term but also sustainable over time. In today’s fast-paced world, where decision-
making is often reactive, the need for such wisdom is crucial. The Indian Knowledge
System (IKS) offers valuable insights into strategy, leadership, and decision-making
through its ancient texts and philosophies. Among these, the Puranas, Nyaya, and
Mimamsa stand out as foundational sources that have shaped Indian thought and
continue to provide relevant strategic frameworks.
The Puranas, with their rich narratives,
teach lessons on governance, ethics, and
human behaviour. Nyaya, the school
of logic, offers a structured approach
to reasoning and decision-making.
Mimamsa, focusing on ethics and duty,
underscores the importance of moral
principles in strategy. Together, these three
elements of IKS provide a comprehensive
framework for applying strategic wisdom in
various contexts, from personal decisions
to leadership and governance.
