Lokmanya Tilak will always be remembered for his
indomitable will, vast learning, love for country and the great
sacrifices he had to undergo. He was respected and held in
highest regard and affection by young India and masses across
the country. The aim of this article is to acquaint one and all and
to reflect on the multifaceted personality of Lokmanya Tilak
through his thoughts and actions. Although we must admit that
more needs to be explored and researched in his multifaceted
personality.
Although Lokmanya Tilak majorly contributed towards
political struggle for India’s independence, there were lesser-
known other areas in which he had significantly contributed
and some of these areas have indirectly helped in freedom
struggle. Let us look at the various areas which he touched
upon during his life span. Industrialisation was an area of
critical importance to him. He believed that our country could
progress only if modern industrialisation is achieved. He was in
constant search of starting new business ventures with minimal
capital easily affordable to common man. He was keen to
include industrialisation into mainstream freedom struggle.
