but to stop manual scavenging in India which is life
threatening to many. The devotion of a twenty two
year old girl towards making the society a better
place to live is something that always reminds
me, whatever it is that we can do for other human
beings, it is never too much. We owe it our life, we
owe it mother earth.
While many of the readers are aware about
the interview process of IMDR, few know how
it enriches the life of person who conducts the
interviews. When the candidate seeking admission
at IMDR shares about a specific challenge he or
she faced and how they overcame it, we live it with
them during narration. I shall always be grateful to
IMDR, for I have heard stories of courage, victory
over grief, joy, strength in those interviews. Those
earnestly shared experiences stay with us, bring
us hope and show the strength of mortals. One
such interview which will certainly stay with me
is of a dear student, Kartik. Kartik shared how he
managed to do a job along side graduation. He not
only did the job, but exceeded the expectations. He
shared how he never gave up in spite of difficulties
and the joy on his face when he shared the story
made me feel extremely proud of getting to be his
teacher.
Many of my students will always stay in my
thoughts. Aishwarya as I see so much of myself in
her, Shruti for the fire in the belly spirit, Swastika
for the determination she has, Siddharth for being
the most dependable person, Nayan for finding out
solutions to almost everything and Vivek for being
the resourceful person that he is. Having worked
with them as a part of publications committee has
given me numerous memories and shall enrich
me for the lifetime. And these are, only few perks
that I have listed.
