the times, was exhausting. But the excitement STUDENTS
to reach the Campsite alleviated the feeling of
exhaustion. The team bonding games, the piping
hot food served in the chilly weather & the cosy
tents were the things that everyone of us looked
forward to.
The main day of the trek was the one towards
the Summit. We reached the 2nd Campsite &
were eagerly waiting for the next day. Just then
the weather conditions worsened & it started to
rain heavily. But we were hopeful that it would be
better the next day. And it sure was; the skies were
clear & sun shone as bright as it could. Everyone
enthusiastically embarked on the final hike. And
soon we were walking in thick snow. The view of
the snow-clad mountain ranges, from up there,
was phenomenal. But at the same time, due to
the high altitude, it became difficult for most of
us to walk. And we had to stop mid-way towards
the summit. Only 4 amongst the 20 of us could
conquer the Summit. But I believe everyone gave
their best shot at doing so.
The next day we descended towards the Base
Camp. We enjoyed the thrilling river rafting &
later walked around the beautiful town Manali &
got some souvenirs for our friends & family. The
following day we bid farewell to Manali & began
our journey back to Pune.
