Abstract:
Sustainability is the virtue of experiencing the stable performance across the domain. The United Nations
(UN) considering the need of the universe presented the sustainable development goals to the global
platform in 2015. The Idea behind the development of the goals was to enhance the global standards of
living. Sustainable Development Goals identified and presented by the UN were No Poverty, Zero Hunger,
Good Health & Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean water and Sanitation, Affordable
and Clean Energy, Decent work & Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced
Inequalities, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate
Action, Life below Water, Life on land, Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions and Partnerships for the goals.
The aim is to achieve these goals by 2030. The obvious understanding is these goals will be achieved by the
collective effort of various sections of the society. One of the major sections identified to support the SDG is
the Industrial support.
This paper attempts to study the Essentials of Sustainable Development goals spearheaded by the United
Nations. The study further aims to understand the role of Industries towards contributing to Sustainable
Development Goals. The study is the exploratory & descriptive research conducted by the help of Primary
and Secondary data. The Author has presented the inferences based on the responses gathered by the
representatives from the Industrial domain. The study encompasses the understanding on SDGs and the role
of Industries in contributing to the attainment of SDGs. The Author has considered the Industry at large
rather any specific domain that potentially may be the limitation of the study. Hence the inferences gathered
are indicative in nature rather exhaustive. SDGs also referred as the Global goals have certainly provided a
direction towards sustainable development of global society at large.

Decent work & Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities,
Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life below
