1. Introduction
The great freedom fighter and the father of Indian unrest
Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak began his career as a teacher
in a high school. He, along with his colleague Gopal Ganesh
Agarkar intentionally accepted this noble profession for the
nation-building by creating new generations full of patriotism.
We know Tilak also as an Editor of Marathi and English
Newsletters. He used his Marathi newspaper ‘Kesari’ as a
weapon to create public unrest against the injustice of British
rulers. Besides criticism on the government policies, he used
it for awakening the people and showed them the path of
development. He strongly emphasised on the need of industrial
education and training for the rapid growth in the industrial
sector, and ultimately for the economic development of our
nation.
