Over a Cup of
Coffee...

COVID-19 crisis impacted the demand of coffee
on a wider range as due to lockdown in several
countries, strict government rules regarding the
closing of restaurants and bars and maintaining
the distance was imposed which impacted the
restaurants severely and affected the coffee
demand on a wider range. Reduction in household
income as various people lost their jobs and
that could have translated into lower demand
for coffee in volume terms. The country exports
over 70% of its production. In 2021-22, the total
exports recorded a 42% rise to US$ 1.02 billion
from the previous year. In March 2022, exports
of coffee were valued at US$ 114.7 million, a 22%
growth from February 2022.
According to Kiosk Kaffee owners, they
invented the kiosk approach, where coffee is
served in a constrained area. The business was
started with the intention of serving high-quality
coffee, said the founders collectively. Since its
