The parcel train for the Joint Parcel Product (JPP) Scheme has scheduled departure and arrival
timings at the beginning, middle, and end stops. To ensure safe and secure travel on scheduled
trains, Indian Railways would provide secured sealed boxes for intermediate transmission between
origin and destination railway stations. Third-party insurance is available from the Post Department
to customers who use the JPP Service for just 0.03% of the cargo value.

To provide customers with a cost-effective option, the first-mile and last-mile service prices are
established at Rs 6/- per kg. This cost is reasonable compared to what is now being charged on the
highway. Moreover, a smartphone application is being developed so that consumers may plan
shipments, pay online, and track them in real-time.
