1. Introduction
In today's corporate discourse, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has gained
significance as businesses are increasingly recognized for their contributions to society beyond the
pursuit of profit. CSR is essentially the term for a business's voluntary efforts to solve
environmental and social challenges in order to support sustainable development. Businesses
incorporate social, environmental, and ethical considerations into their operations and stakeholder
relationships within this framework.
Aligned with worldwide goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), corporate
social responsibility (CSR) endeavors to ensure long-term business sustainability and success in
addition to beneficial effects on the environment and society. The Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), which were endorsed by the UN in 2015, provide a thorough framework for addressing
world problems like poverty, inequality, climate change, and education. Sustainable development,
as defined by the SDGs, is meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own.
The notion of Sustainable Development is of great importance to India, a nation headed toward
development by the year 2047. Known as "Viksit Bharat 2047," this vision depicts an inclusive
and affluent India that is marked by social justice, economic expansion, and environmental
sustainability. This vision places education at the center as a vital pillar that promotes economic
growth, societal advancement, and individual empowerment. However, the current situation of
education in India is complicated, with problems like uneven access, poor infrastructure, and
inconsistent quality standards among areas.
Despite these obstacles, CSR is becoming more popular in India as businesses realize how
important it is to solve socio economic problems. CSR programs in India cover a broad spectrum
of activities targeted at encouraging sustainable development, from healthcare and education
promotion to environmental conservation and livelihood enhancement.
