families who are unemployed. Approximately 1,900 students finished their training in FY 2022–
2023 alone, and 60% of them were placed successfully with different organizations within the
fiscal year.
KEF collaborated with some of Mumbai's and surrounding areas' most economically
disadvantaged populations in FY 2020–21. The COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns that
followed altered the way that education was delivered, especially for the groups that KEF is
intended to assist—those who are economically disadvantaged. As educational activities ceased in
India, several studies suggested that almost 32 crore learners stopped attending schools and
universities. During this crisis, KEF swiftly embraced digital outreach techniques to connect with
its beneficiaries.
In order to support a financial education program for youth across various institutions in India,
notably in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Kona Kona Shiksha (KSN) was founded in FY 2021–2022. This
effort aims to increase public awareness of the many aspects of the financial markets and the
finance sector.
The scope involves strengthening higher education in addition to aiding marginalized
communities' livelihood, skill development, and schooling. Since FY 2021–2022, Kotak has been
helping the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) build an AI–ML Center—a center dedicated to
artificial intelligence and machine learning—in Bengaluru. Short-term courses and postgraduate
and undergraduate degrees will be offered by this center. They have strengthened their relationship
with IISc in FY 2022–2023 by contributing funds to a number of initiatives envisioned for the AI–
ML center.
With the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Kotak has established a fruitful
partnership to launch the Women Startup Programme (WSP), an initiative that supports women
from tier-2 and tier-3 Indian cities in their pursuit of entrepreneurship. This program assists young
companies founded by women entrepreneurs that possess the creativity, execution, and potential to
make a significant contribution to society or the economy.
As part of the endeavor to support and aid the weaker and marginalized members of our society,
the partnership with Sarthak Educational Trust, Deeds Public Charitable Trust (Deeds),
Youth4Jobs Foundation (Y4J), and Nayi Disha Resource Center helped to provide educational and
employment opportunities to empower the differently abled. Through the provision of skill
training and job opportunities, this project has trained over 1,400 individuals with disabilities and
placed 926 youth in associated enterprises, assisting them in achieving financial independence.
