        Background of Indian Millets:

Millets have been known to humans for centuries. They are adaptable
to a wide range of temperatures, moisture, and severe input conditions.
They have multiple health benefits and are versatile in use; they can
be used in salads, as flour, cereals, and nowadays in deserts. They
are some of the oldest crops known to mankind and have been a
staple food for many cultures around the world, particularly in Africa
and Asia. Historically, millets were grown and consumed widely
across the world and were especially popular in regions where other
crops did not thrive due to poor soil quality or limited access to
water. Millets are drought-tolerant and can grow well in poor soil
conditions, making them an ideal crop for arid and semi-arid regions.
These are tiny-seeded grasses from the Poaceae botanical family. In
recent years; millets have gained renewed interest as a superfood due
        to their numerous health benefits.
