P. 109
Today, these single teacher schools are running in more than
one lakh villages and have worked to bring many out-of-school
children back into the educational stream. The SEZs in the new
education policy will work on the lines of this Ekal school. It
will further enhance the quality of education.
The dream of a self-reliant India will come true.
Reaching education to all sections of the society, increasing
the quality of education, making education a profession,
making moral education a priority, imparting the necessary
rites to make today’s students better citizens of tomorrow will
be the goal of the NEP. Every student should be associated
with Indian history, customs, festivals, traditions, our scriptures,
historical greats, in school education. Sanskrit is a carrier of
Indian culture, so Sanskrit should be introduced from school
life. School and college education should be done in the mother
tongue. Higher education should be more employable and
based on innovation. A great plan to realize the dream of a
self-reliant India through this powerful educational revolution
is taking shape through the NEP.
One hundred years ago, Lokmanya Tilak’s dream of building
a self-reliant India through national education is now being
realized through the New Education Policy. Self-reliant India
will be independent, self-respecting, self-reliant in science and
technology, and self-reliant in economic and industrial spheres.
Now the dream of such a developed India will come true soon.
