      Dighi Visit


                                                                              Students  of  International  Trade
                                                                              Specialization  visited  Dynamic  Logistics
                                                                              Pvt. Ltd. & got an opportunity to meet the
                                                                              Assistant  Commissioner  of  Customs
                                                                              Inland Container Depot. This rendezvous
                                                                              was very enriching. Concepts that students
                                                                              used to read in books came alive. This kind
                                                                              of experience builds a lasting memory &
                                                                              stimulates more interest in the subject.




      SEBI Visit

                                                               The visit to the headquarters of Securities and Exchange
                                                               Board of India, situated in Mumbai, was planned for the
                                                               students specializing in Finance both as major and minor. It
                                                               was a two- hour session and was attended by around 50
                                                               students.
                                                               SEBI is always a buzzword in news as much as the shares in
                                                               the news of stock market. Having the subject of Security
                                                               Analysis and Portfolio Management in the curriculum and
                                                               visiting  SEBI  for  practical  experience  made  it  a  value-
                                                               added learning.
                                                               They were given a warm welcome with snacks and tea and
                                                               got  the  opportunity  to  be  addressed  by  the AGM,  who
                                                               commenced the session with general questions about the
                                                               knowledge of SEBI. He expounded on the history of SEBI,
                                                               and its functions and responsibilities. He discussed the role
                                                               of stock exchanges like NSE and BSE in share market. He
                                                               shared that the employees of SEBI cannot invest in stock
                                                               market. He enlightened them as to the types of securities
                                                               scams like insider trading, dabba trading, penny stocks,
      Ponzi schemes and unscrupulous brokers. He also told them that how SEBI can exercise its powers on such flagitious
      deceptions.
      He concluded the session by explaining the pre- SEBI and post-SEBI scenario in the stock market as in how after the
      inception of SEBI, the entire processes and system has become simple and transparent and how frauds have been
      tremendously reduced to least.
      Students who have been investing and trading in stock market were enthralled by this visit. This was a fun-filled and
      enriched learning experience to the students.
