generations, and preserve craftsmanship, while acknowledging the challenges posed by modernization and
changing consumer preferences. By dissecting a specific aspect of the industry, whether production processes,

marketing strategies, or consumer demographics, we aim to illuminate the true potential and limitations of
these cultural treasures in contributing to a prosperous and culturally vibrant India envisioned by Viksit Bharat

         2047.

         2. Literature Review:
India's Viksit Bharat 2047 envisions a future where development transcends Euro-centric models, focusing on

empowering communities, preserving cultural treasures, and claiming a global presence. Handicrafts like
Kolhapuri chappals, with their rich history and intricate craftsmanship, epitomize this vision. While facing

pressures from modernization and competition, Viksit Bharat 2047 offers a lifeline. By empowering artisans,

promoting sustainable practices, and fostering innovation, this initiative can revive these dying arts. Imagine
Kolhapuri chappals, reimagined with modern sensibilities, gracing international runways while retaining their

cultural essence. Handicrafts, beyond being mere products, become symbols of heritage and national
identity, thriving on the global stage while staying true to their roots. This journey is not about mimicking

the West, but forging a unique path to development that celebrates India's diverse tapestry and empowers its
people. By nurturing these artisanal traditions, Viksit Bharat 2047 can weave a future where prosperity is

intricately woven with cultural pride, ensuring that India's heritage becomes a global treasure, not just a relic

of the past. Moreover, handicrafts offer a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to economic
development, creating jobs in rural communities and utilizing local resources. Additionally, the revival of

these crafts can empower women artisans, fostering their financial independence and social inclusion.
Ultimately, by prioritizing handicrafts, Viksit Bharat 2047 can achieve true development that benefits not only

the economy, but also the soul of the nation. This prioritization holds immense potential, considering the

vibrant export market of Indian handicrafts.
