Awareness:
Understanding your emotions: This involves recognizing your emotional state at any given moment,
including their intensity and triggers. It also means reflecting on the impact these emotions have on
your thoughts, behaviours, and decision-making.
Identifying your strengths and weaknesses: Knowing your natural talents and areas for improvement
allows you to play to your strengths and work on overcoming limitations.
Identifying your values and motivations: Understanding what drives you can help you make choices
and set goals that align with your true desires.
2. Self-Regulation:
Managing your emotions: This involves being able to control your impulsive reactions and express
your emotions in a healthy and productive way. It includes skills like calming yourself down, delaying
gratification, and coping with stress.
Adapting to change: Being able to adjust your emotions and behaviors to different situations and
demands is crucial for navigating life's ups and downs.
Taking responsibility: Owning your actions and choices, even when difficult, demonstrates emotional
maturity and integrity.
3. Motivation:
Intrinsic motivation: This refers to being driven by internal factors like interest, passion, and personal
satisfaction, rather than external rewards or pressures.
Goal setting and achievement: Setting realistic goals and pursuing them with unwavering commitment
is a key aspect of motivation.
Optimism and resilience: Maintaining a positive outlook and bouncing back from setbacks are essential
for staying motivated in the face of challenges.
4. Empathy:
Understanding others' emotions: This involves being able to see things from another person's
perspective and recognize their feelings, even if you don't share them.
Compassion and caring: Taking an interest in others' well-being and actively supporting them
demonstrates empathy in action.
Developing strong relationships: Empathy is the foundation for building meaningful and trust-based
connections with others.
