The Dark Night’s Moon

The sky was as dark as it ever could be
          The darkest shade of ebony,

The darkest night was here again,
The night which held the moon, the sky starless

This was the night she loved the most and awaited
Where her thoughts, her feelings, plunged deep into the ocean of her

          thoughts
          And shone clean

This starless, black sky of the night was her canvas, on which she
painted her dreams, of her love and she.

          Now and forever
          Though distance came between them,

The wait one day would be over.
If you have loved, as the moon does, you would know.

It does not steal the night, but reveals the sheer delicate beauty of
          the dark.

Tonight, the moon shines brilliantly on the ocean in its opulence,
Sprinkling moon dust on the silent waters

The ocean, calm on the surface,
          Is breathless beneath.
