patterns in the collected data to get a broader perspective and deeper
        understanding of the various available schemes for millet production
        and processing.


        4.1 Findings from the Study

        All the government schemes mentioned above to promote Millet’s
        productions and promotion in India were studied in detail.  A
        comparative  analysis  of the  same  was carried  out  based  on four

        factors -objective, focus, implementation, and impact. The findings
        can be summarised as follows:

           •  National Food Security Mission (NFSM):

        Objective: NFSM aims to increase the production of food grains,
        including millet, to ensure food security.


        Focus: Primarily  focuses on increasing  millet  production  through
        technology adoption and capacity building.

        Implementation:  Implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture  and

        Farmers’ Welfare.

        Impact:  Has  contributed  to  increased  millet  production  in  target
        states.

           •  Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY):


        Objective:  RKVY aims to stimulate  agriculture  and enhance
        agricultural production and farmers’ income.

        Focus: Provides funds to states for agricultural development, which
        may include millet cultivation and processing projects.

        Implementation:  Implemented  by state  governments, allowing

        flexibility in tailoring schemes.
