NFSM and RKVY focus on increasing millet production, PMKSY
        ensures  efficient  water  use.  NFPN  and  Startup  India  encourage
        processing and innovation, while the Mid-Day Meal Scheme boosts
        consumption. NABARD schemes provide financial support to millet

        farmers and processors.

        4.2 Action Plan:

        A coordinated approach involving all the above-mentioned schemes

        can  have  a  significant  positive  impact  on  millet  production  and
        processing in India, contributing to food security, farmer income, and
        nutrition. This action plan aims to leverage the complementary roles
        of existing government schemes while introducing new measures to
        strengthen millet production and processing in India


        Establish a dedicated inter-ministerial committee for millet promotion
        to ensure coordination  among ministries  responsible for NFSM,
        RKVY, PMKSY, NFPN,  Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and NABARD
        schemes.


        Organize  training  programs and workshops  for millet  farmers to
        disseminate  best  practices  in  millet  cultivation,  efficient  water
        management, and modern processing techniques.


        Foster collaboration  between  agricultural  research  institutions,
        startups, and the private sector to drive innovation in millet processing
        technologies, product development, and packaging.

        Encourage millet-based products in the market through awareness

        campaigns and incentives for food processing units. Promote millet
        as a nutritious and sustainable option.

        Expand the inclusion of millets  in the Mid-Day Meal  Scheme  to
        additional states and regions, ensuring the provision of millet-based
