and financial services by liaising with banks and financial
institutions. They help farmers prepare loan applications, and
collateral documentation, and facilitate the disbursement of

        7. Advocacy and Policy Engagement: FPOs advocate for the
rights and interests of their members at local, regional, and
national levels. They engage with government agencies and

policymakers to influence agricultural policies and programs
that benefit small and marginal farmers.

The Role of FPOs in Promoting Millet Cultivation

           1. Facilitating Knowledge Sharing and Training

One of the primary roles of FPOs is to empower farmers with
knowledge and skills. FPOs organize training programs and workshops
that educate farmers on modern millet cultivation techniques, pest
and disease management, and water-efficient farming practices. By
disseminating best practices, FPOs help farmers improve their millet

        yields and overall agricultural productivity.

           2. Providing Access to Quality Seeds and Inputs

Access to quality seeds is a critical factor in successful millet

cultivation. FPOs work to ensure that their members have access to
certified millet seeds that are suited to local conditions. Additionally,
they facilitate the procurement of essential agricultural inputs like
fertilizers and pesticides at reasonable prices, ensuring that farmers
        can optimize their crop yields.

           3. Promoting Sustainable Farming Practices

Sustainability is a core principle of FPOs. They promote eco-
friendly and sustainable farming practices such as organic farming,
