Abstract
Millet, often referred to as the ‘nutri-cereal,’ has been an integral
part of India’s agricultural heritage for centuries. Despite its
nutritional richness and resilience to adverse climatic conditions,
millet production in India faced significant challenges over the
years, including declining cultivation and reduced farmer interest.
However, the tide is turning with the emergence of Farmer Producer
Organizations (FPOs) playing a pivotal role in reviving millet
farming. This 5000-word article explores the crucial role that FPOs
are playing in improving millet production in India, emphasizing
their impact on agricultural practices, farmer livelihoods, nutrition,
