and other constraints. It focuses on knowing the
objectives of PMMY, to know the different schemes
under PMMY and to know the benefits available
to small business units. The study concludes that
the scheme will contribute to the well-being of the
individuals engaged in small scale industries which
will positively affect the progress of the economy as
a whole. MUDRA as a financial tool is found very
effective in its initial stages across the country.
This will surely make a dramatic change and will
help in making a developed India.
Rudrawar, Aparana (2016), expressed that
the focus of MUDRA scheme is to ‘Fund the
unfunded’. It is expected that the MUDRA scheme
will fulfil the financial needs of 5.77 crores small
businesses (according to NSSO in 2013) who are
spread throughout the boundaries of the country.
The study is conducted to get an overview of the
MUDRA scheme adopted in the country, to know
the roles and responsibilities of MUDRA scheme
for small and micro businesses and to analyse
the impact of MUDRA scheme over the Indian
economy. And the study finds that the desired
transformation can be achieved from this scheme,
if implemented properly at the bottom level, it may
act as a game changing idea and may boost and
prosper the Indian economy in a short span. It
should involve less documentation and be easily
