microfinance and has helped weaker sections and
            low-income groups in their funding requirements.
            They suggested that  efforts  must  be  made  to

            increase the number of loan sanctions and proper
            implementation of the scheme.

            Lall (2018) studied the performance of MUDRA in
            the state of Uttarakhand. The study showed that

            demonetization and GST had negatively affected the
            pace of the entrepreneurial activities and the state
            which  has  caused a  drop in  the  number of  loan
            sanctions under MUDRA. The initiatives of the state

            government  for  organizing  camps  and awareness
            programs for the effective implementation of the
            programs have been appreciated in the study.

            Ibrahim  P.  A  (2018)  studied  the  performance  of

            MUDRA Yojana and found that there is a need to
            have  more  specialised  financial  institutions  for
            serving  the credit  needs of  the micro  enterprises
            including  SMEs.  The  government  initiative  to

            support  micro  enterprises  by  providing  financial
            support  through  MUDRA  Yojana  is  a  fruitful
            venture. The growth rate of accounts opening and
            credit  disbursement  in  various  MUDRA  Schemes

            shows progressive trends. The reach of the scheme
            is widely among marginalised segments, 73.41% of
            account holders are women and 25.16% are new
            entrepreneurs. However,  the  northern states  of

            India registered comparatively lesser participation
