Guru Purnima
“Guru Bramha Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara Guru Sakshat
Param Brahma Tasmai Shri Guruwe Namah.”
The above shloka means that the Guru is verily the representative of
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. He creates and sustains knowledge and
destroys the weeds of ignorance. The first full moon after the summer
solstice in the month of Ashadha i.e. (July- August), as per the Hindu
Calendar, is celebrated as Guru Purnima in India. This day is dedicated to
spiritual teachers and academicians for sharing their wisdom to dispel the
darkness of ignorance in the world.
IMDR, a pioneer in management education celebrates Guru Purnima with
full zest and zeal by remembering and thanking the teachers and academicians as a gesture of gratitude. The faculties
offered prayer and alms to Goddess Saraswati, who is revered as the Goddess of knowledge.
Sanskriti - IMDR Style
“If we are to preserve culture, we must continue to
create it.” IMDR preserves its Tradition i.e. Sanskriti
and has a legacy of 46 years that has cherished it.
Every year, IMDR Juniors honor their seniors by
arranging a special event called Sanskriti. Following
the IMDR Sanskriti, the batch of 2019-21, arranged a
fun event for the seniors, one Saturday afternoon. The
event had a plethora of performances, ranging from
singing, dancing, stand-up comedy act to some really
beguiling games to entertain the seniors. Sanskriti is a
way of showing gratitude by IMDR Juniors towards
their seniors for helping them acclimate during their
initial days. Mr. Tushar Patil & Ms. Nikita Rasyara
were announced as Mr. & Miss Fresher by the seniors.
