Findings and Conclusion
Objective 1 - Industry perception about employment opportunities in current
scenario and going forward
The overall industry perception about employment opportunities can be best described
as uncertain. The respondent also express that this uncertainty will continue to
shadow general income levels, job creation and overall economy for the next one year.
Majority of respondents are uncertain about the nancial situation at their workplace
and also for themselves as individuals, but they are denitively not negative about
these variables. The fundamentals of Indian economy have been strong as reected in
India becoming the fth largest economy in the world (IMF’s October 2019, World
Economic Outlook). This reects in the respondent views on the strategies that will
provide the triggers for a turnaround of the current situation, which will have a
spillover effect on employment opportunities, subsequently.
Objective 2 - Expert insights on effectiveness of entrepreneurial activation
during recession
Economic downturns are typically associated with job losses and uncertainty
surrounding creation on account of slowdown or decline in economic activity. The
researcher nds that COVID19 aftermath is likely to be associated with employment
challenges and further nds that the situation is likely to be attractive for
entrepreneurship and startups. The reasons include both the emerging opportunities,
which can be identied and exploited buy an innovative mind, and dearth of jobs which
pushes people to become look at entrepreneurship as an alternative option.
Objective 3 - Targeted approach to be adopted to boost entrepreneurship
Cultivating and nurturing innovation emerges as the most important driver for
entrepreneurship development ecosystem, but statistically there is a signicant
difference among various categories of respondents. Entrepreneurship thrives within a
supportive entrepreneurship ecosystem which has multiple components. The
researcher tried to identify the most important among them, which is cultivating and
nurturing innovation. This further may require linkages with other components of the
ecosystem such as formal and informal education processes.
