4. Findings
4.1 Perception About Impact of COVID-19 on Business Operations
78% respondents acknowledged that the pandemic had a negative impact on business
operations, while 12% noted that it had a positive impact. 10% said that COVID-19 had
neither positive nor negative impact on business operations. Details are given in Table 4:
4.2 Challenges Faced due to COVID -19
50% respondents reported reduction in corporate spending, while 56% observed that
they had difculty in staying connected with customers.
44% reported decrease in productivity due to remote work. This included delays in
manufacturing and logistics, lack of supply of raw materials and delays in fullling
orders. In addition for some, the nature of work itself was hampered due to remote work
As one respondent noted, “As we deal with lot of condential data, providing access to
team members remotely is a challenge”. For those in businesses such as hospitality,
airlines and allied businesses, productivity is at a standstill. As one respondent noted,
“Our clients are hospitality businesses. Till they are not up and running, no major
business will take place”.
22% reported issues with employee morale while 8% said that employee layoffs would be
a challenge.
