An examination of the occurrence of the Abilene Paradox, a perplexing phenomenon in group decision-
making, was conducted by categorizing cases into two distinct age groups: 18-25 and 26-30. The data analysis
revealed intriguing insights into the distribution of this paradox among these age brackets. Notably, many
instances, approximately 74.19%, were observed within the 18-25 age group. This significant percentage
suggests that the Abilene Paradox is prevalent among individuals in the younger age range, emphasizing its
relevance and impact on those who are between 18 and 25 years old.
In contrast, the 26-30 age group, while representing a smaller proportion, accounted for a substantial 25.81%
of the observed Abilene Paradox cases. This finding indicates that this intriguing paradox is not exclusive to
younger individuals but also manifests among those aged between 26 and 30. The distribution of cases across
these two age groups underscores the broader applicability of the Abilene Paradox, affecting individuals in
distinct life stages.
