Women Entrepreneurship Models in India
It is thought that if women entrepreneurs are given equal access to inputs, they will be able to own and
run businesses and generate significant economic benefits. In India, businesses owned and managed by women
may use a variety of models.
Self Help Groups (SHGs): An SHG is made up of a few women who meet together to contribute
money on a regular basis. SHGs, which began as microfinance systems, frequently develop into a

piggery farming, poultry farming, and handicrafts through participating in SHGs. Additionally, SHGs
