he envisions a federal system for free India where people of all
castes, creeds, races and religions would be equal.
Lokmanya Tilak asked people to participate in the Chelmsford
Montague reforms for responsive cooperation which would
enable Indians to have a say in the Government (and demanded
            for additional reforms).
Dr. Jagdeesh R. Lanjekar has analyzed various editorials on
industrial and agriculture education in Kesari and has described
how Tilak awakened nationalism among common people and
proved how foreign rulers were exploiting our country and
            doing injustice with countrymen.

Prof. Pradnya Mahajan has explained how Tilak used various
Mass Media to enlighten or educate the masses.
Prof. Vipra Tiwari explains to us the mantra of National
Education. Lokmanya Tilak believed educators should directly
help in understanding the endowments which would help to
develop workspace for utilizing the endowments of Indian soil
to generate employment and produce goods.

Tilak was way ahead of his times in envisioning our
educational system that was more autonomous and conducive
to the society and nation at large.

Dr. Sharad Kunte, Chairman, Council and Governing Body
of Deccan Education Society has explained how DE Society
has maintained the rich legacy of Lokmanya Tilak’s thought
of National Education. DES is a pride for every nationalist.
Lokmanya Tilak was worried about the nature of then education
and insisted that it should be such that the men, women, and
children of the nation become more and more knowledgeable
and inclined to uplift the nation politically, socially, religiously
and industrially (economically). A zeal for swadharma and
Swadeshi should be generalized in the minds of the people.

Lokmanya said- “It is useless to doubt how education will fill
the stomach. If national education does not have the capacity
to feed itself, it is not education at all”.

As I am born in the family of the great, legendary Lokmanya
Tilak it gives me great pleasure to know that DES has provided
