3.2. Research Design

        This research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining both
        quantitative and qualitative methodologies to provide a comprehensive

        understanding of millet production and its economics.

        The design of this research is exclusively based on the collection and
        analysis of secondary data. This signifies that no primary data, like
        surveys, interviews, or field observations, were obtained. Instead, pre-

        existing literature, academic studies, reports, and other publications
        furnished the needed data.

        Secondary data offers the best source to provide a large data needed
        for analysis  purposes. Leveraging  secondary  data  enables  the

        exploration of historical trends, allowing for a better understanding
        of the evolution of millet production practices in India

        3.3. Data Collection

        a. Literature  Review:  An extensive review of existing literature
        comprising research reports, studies, papers, etc was conducted to

        comprehend the historical, cultural, and agronomic dimensions of
        millet production in India.

        b. Government Reports and Statistical Databases: Data from pertinent
        government reports, agricultural census, and statistical databases was

        extracted to find out trends, policy frameworks, and the economic
        landscape of millet production in India.

        3.4. Data Analysis


        A structured literature review was conducted to analyze the collected
        data. Trend analysis helped in diagnosing any significant trends over
        the period in millet cultivation as well as their income generation
        capacity.
