        cultivation across different regions of Uttarakhand, which is mainly
        influenced by factors such as soil quality, climate, and market demand.


        4.1.3. Madhya Pradesh:

        In terms of geography, Madhya Pradesh is known as the ‘Heartland
        of India’. The state is well known for its wealth of natural resources,
        including its forests, rivers, minerals, and valleys. The environment

        in Madhya Pradesh is very conducive to the cultivation of millet.

        In India, 8% of the overall production of millets has been grown
        in Madhya Pradesh. Due to the rising demand for items made from
        millet and the government’s initiatives to encourage their cultivation,

        the production of millets in Madhya Pradesh has been rising
        significantly over time. s. The state government has launched several
        schemes, such as the Mukhya Mantri Krishak Samridhi  Yojana
        and the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Yojana, to encourage millet
        farming and entrepreneurship in the state.


        4.1.5. Maharashtra:

        Maharashtra is one of the major millet-producing states. Millets play
        an important role in Maharashtra cuisine and are related to ancient

        festivals and ceremonies. Millets have been cultivated and consumed
        by people in Maharashtra for decades, and they have a thorough
        awareness of their nutritional and cultural significance.

        4.1.6. Rajasthan:

        Rajasthan is the largest producer of millet in India contributing more

        than 16 per cent share in India’s production in 2020- 21. Rajasthan
        has been the largest producer of Pearl Millet or ‘Bajra’. From 2017
        to 20, a drastic jump has been witnessed in the production and yield
