promote millet consumption.
        • Consumers could make a conscious effort to include millets in
their diet by regularly consuming millet-based foods such as
            roti, porridge, and snacks.

        • Consumers could demand millet-based products from retailers
            and restaurants.
        • Consumers could educate others about the health benefits of

millets and encourage them to include millets in their diet.

By taking these actions, the government, private sector, and consumers
can work together to promote millet production and consumption in
India. This will benefit millet farmers, improve food security, and

boost the economy of rural India.

        6.1. Conclusion:

Millets are a group of small-seeded cereals that are highly nutritious
and have several advantages over other cereals, such as being
drought-tolerant and requiring less input. India is the largest producer

of millets in the world, and millet production has been increasing in
recent years due to several factors, including government support,
increased awareness of the health benefits of millets, and rising

        demand for gluten-free foods.

The economics of millet production in India are generally favorable,
as millets require fewer inputs than other cereals and can be grown
on a variety of soils. However, there are some challenges associated

with millet production in India, such as the lack of a well-developed
marketing and distribution system and the lack of awareness among
consumers about the health benefits of millet.

Despite these challenges, the outlook for millet production in India

is positive, as the government is committed to promoting millet
