Awareness and Promotion of Millets

        The awareness and promotion of millet in India are vital for enhancing

        food and nutritional  security, promoting  sustainable  agriculture,
        and  preserving  traditional  food  cultures.  Millets  offer  a  unique
        opportunity to address contemporary  challenges,  such as water
        scarcity, malnutrition,  and climate  change,  while  also celebrating

        India’s rich agricultural heritage. Continued efforts from government,
        industry, and consumers are crucial in realizing the full potential of
        millets in India’s food landscape.

        Despite  their  nutritional  and  environmental  benefits,  millets  have

        long been neglected and undervalued. In many parts of the world,
        they have been replaced by more commercially viable crops, leading
        to a decline in their cultivation and consumption. This has resulted
        in a loss of traditional knowledge and genetic diversity, as well as

        a decline in the health and livelihoods of communities that rely on
