2. Use of millets in Hospitals:
After the Covid period, the number of health-conscious people is
increasing day by day. The use of millets in hospitals is very useful
for the recovery of patients.
IIMR (Indian Institute of Medical Research) has researched the menu
containing millets, which are suitable for patients. It includes both
north Indian & south Indian dishes. Millets include a high proportion
of healthy nutrients, offer various health benefits, and are useful for
diabetes, obesity, heart, kidney, and liver ailments & cancer treatment.
Niacin, which is rich in millet, aids to human body by regulating
more than 400 enzyme reactions. Niacin is essential for healthy skin
as well as proper organ functioning. In reality, it’s a crucial substance
that is often added to processed foods as enrichment. The darker types
of millet are especially good sources of beta-carotene. This natural
pigment acts as both an antioxidant and as a precursor to vitamin A,
helping the body fight off harmful free radicals and supporting the
health of the eyes. After the Covid era, more and more people are
becoming health-conscious. Millets are used in hospitals to aid in
patient recuperation.
Control Blood Sugar.
Millet is low in simple carbohydrates and higher in complex
carbohydrates, making it a low-glycaemic index (GI) food. That is
why millet takes more time to digest than standard wheat flour. Low-
GI foods help keep the blood sugar normal from rising after eating,
which allows people having diabetes to manage their blood sugar
levels so easily.
Improves digestive health.
Millets have higher fibre content, both soluble and insoluble. The
insoluble fibre in millet is called a “prebiotic,” which means it
supports good bacteria in your digestive system. This type of fibre
