Research Methodology
For this descriptive research paper, secondary data from various sources such as websites,
research papers, blogs, and articles were gathered to explore the use of technology in human
resources management. These sources provided insights into the adoption of technologies like
e-recruitment, e-enrollment, and online hiring in HR processes. Additionally, information
regarding the integration of technology in functions such as compensation, payroll, and
performance management systems was collected. Through an extensive review of existing
literature and online resources, this study aimed to analyze the impact of technology on HR
practices and its role in facilitating seamless communication and information flow across
departments.
Discussions
The data collected from various sources was analyzed. The main observations from the
analysis reveal the emerging technologies adapted by companies in HR practices, the impact
of technology on HRM functions and the challenges faced by companies in integrating
technology with the HR functions and major companies using technology for their HR
functions. They are summarized as under:
1.Emerging Technologies in HRM:
Chat Bot
A Chat Bot is a software program specifically created to engage in conversations with users,
typically through text or voice-based interactions. Its purpose is to simulate human-like
conversation and understand how individuals would naturally communicate. Chat Bots are
commonly used by customer service organizations to analyze customer behavior and gather
information. They serve as virtual assistants, helping users navigate through inquiries,
provide information, and assist with various tasks.
Chat Bot improved HR efficiency, employees tend to ask certain questions that can eat up
HR's time. Chat Bots can address questions about paid time off, payroll, employee benefits
and other straightforward topics. Chat Bots may help improve candidate experience by
quickly responding to questions. Anxious job candidates likely appreciate a fast reply.
HRMS:
A human resource management system (HRMS) is a set of software applications that assists
HR professionals in managing HR functionsefficiently. It is designed to streamline and
automate various HR functions within an organization.
