My story session By Mr Chetan Walunj: CEO Repos Energy
Pune, September 11, 2023 – Mr. Chetan Walunj, the visionary founder and CEO of Repos Energy, delivered an inspiring and insightful session during the &;My Story&; event hosted at the esteemed Swatantryaveer Savarkar Auditorium on the Deccan Education Society’s Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR®) campus in Pune on September 9, 2023.
The event, organized by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation committee DES IMDR, Pune, and DES- Dr. P.C Shejawalkar Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, drew an enthusiastic crowd of PGDM students, faculty members, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The event witnessed Mr. Chetan Walunj sharing his remarkable entrepreneurial journey and offering invaluable insights for budding entrepreneurs.
Mr. Chetan Walunj emphasized the importance of identifying societal problems and providing innovative solutions. He stressed the significance of practicality and common sense in decision- making, illustrating how he applied these principles to win the National Startup Award. Repos Energy, under his leadership, has become a game-changing startup in the energy distribution sector, aiming to lead India towards a carbon-light future.
One of the key takeaways from his session was the emphasis on scalability and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, which he demonstrated by overcoming strict government regulations regarding diesel reselling. His determination led to a change in law, allowing door-to-door fuel delivery.
Mr. Walunj credited his mentor, Mr. Ratan Tata, for providing Repos Energy the platform to start and scale its business. He also encouraged entrepreneurs to complement existing businesses when competition is not feasible and to maintain effective communication with investors.
The importance of staying ahead of the times and anticipating future trends and challenges was highlighted, along with the concept of &;Phygital&; resources in the supply chain industry as a future trend.
Looking ahead, Mr. Chetan expressed optimism about the next 25 years, foreseeing a period of exponential growth and opportunities for businesses, urging them to contribute positively to society and the environment as responsible corporate citizens.

The event included a warm welcome, a brief introduction, a video presentation about Repos Energy, and felicitation of the guest. The interview with Mr. Walunj was conducted by Dr. Abhijeet Shivane and students Mohil Bhosale and Pooja Ghuge, followed by an engaging Question and answer session. Dr. Shikha Jain, Director of DES IMDR Pune, graced the occasion, and the members (faculty and students) of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff, contributed to the event&;s success.
Following the interview, the IMDR’s Quadrangle was transformed into a vibrant Fun Fair, featuring games, food stalls, and entertainment, creating a celebratory atmosphere. Mr. Walunj visited the stalls and encouraged the students, and Mr. Anit, HR from Repos Energy, was also present on the occasion.

DES's IMDR Pune and DES's Dr. P. C.Shejwalkar Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (DSCEI) & Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee had jointly organized a My Story Session by Mr. Ramesh Kondhare, Kalyan Bhel , Pune& Fun Fair Event on 20th September 2022.
Mr. Ramesh Kondhare's Interview was organized in Room No. 8 from 3.15 pm to 4.15 pm. He was felicitated by Dr. Shikha Jain, Director , IMDR Pune.
Introduction was given by Dr. Abhijeet Shivane. Interview was conducted by Dr. Abhijeet Shivane along with Omkar Patil, Pradyumn Patil and Sandesh Keshte (PGDM II 2021-23 Batch students).
A few questions were asked by Dr. Shikha Jain, Dr. GiribalaDewasthale, Prof. Dilip Ranadive, and Dr. Sonali Khurjekar. Students also asked some questions.
It was an interesting and enriching experience for all the students.
Dr. Khurjekar and Ms. Gauri Ganu proposed the vote of thanks.
